Barcelona is always electric, but this year feels different. As the industry gathers at the Fira de Barcelona for the 20th anniversary of MWC, we aren't just here to participate in the conversation. We’re here to lead it.
The theme of MWC26 is "The IQ Era." In a world obsessed with AI, many people forget that intelligence is only as useful as the wireless connectivity that delivers it. At NEXA, we believe there is no "smarter" approach to connectivity than building solutions tailored specifically for the use cases that are most in demand today.
This week, we are showing the world what that looks like.
A $100 Million Bet on American Innovation
Before we talk about innovation, I want to talk about commitment. Today, we’re announcing a US$100 million strategic investment to modernize our portfolio and expand our domestic engineering.
We are doubling down on U.S.-based development, expanding our operations, diversifying manufacturing, and strengthening supply chains for the U.S. government and our first-responder partners. We are moving away from "off-the-shelf" uncertainty and toward a future of secure, resilient, and domestically engineered technology.
The initiative is designed to deliver more advanced, secure, and reliable solutions to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), federal agencies, and state and local government partners across the country.
As part of the investment, NEXA will broaden its product lineup to meet evolving mission-critical requirements while reinforcing compliance, reliability, and manufacturing, as well as rapid prototyping and deployment capabilities. The company is also strengthening its ecosystem through its strategic partnerships, including collaboration with Qualcomm and Android Enterprise. These partnerships will support advanced hardware and software integration, enabling next-generation capabilities for government and first-responder applications.
And this is just the beginning. We’ll have more to say post-MWC26, including additional news on this front, but we can give you a preview if you’re interested in speaking with us at the show.
Leading the RedCap Revolution
On the innovation front, we’re going to provide MWC26 attendees with a deeper look at our 2026 roadmap, particularly when it comes to critical technologies like RedCap (Reduced Capability):
- Rhino Mobility’s RedCap Platform: We’re bringing 5G performance to industrial applications where cost-efficiency and scalability used to be barriers. Our platform is one of the first to be deployed by global telecom carriers across the Middle East, Latin America, and North America as they continue to develop their networks to support this new technology.
- The next-gen Rhino Mobility Wearable Platform: Built on Qualcomm’s wearable Snapdragon platform, the wearables have proven to be a game-changer for mission-critical workflows. Whether it’s real-time health tracking for first responders or workflow integration for logistics, this is the most versatile wearable platform on the market, period.
The Power of the Ecosystem (Where to Find Us)
NEXA is focused like a laser on pioneering a new approach to Android systems for the enterprise, one that brings the power of custom-built solutions to the everyday enterprise use case. To that end, we’re partnering with technology leaders throughout the wireless ecosystem. At this year’s show, you won't just find us at our own booth; you’ll see our technology integrated across the entire Fira with our world-class partners:
- Qualcomm (Hall 3, 3E10): See the RHINO V1 Wearable and the Sonim MegaConnect™ HPUE mobile hotspot
- Ericsson (Hall 2): Check out the Sonim XP Pro series and our RHINO RedCap H1 dongles.
- Teledyne FLIR (Hall 7, 7B6): Experience the Sonim XP Pro Thermal 5G—the ultimate tool for high-stakes environments.
- pureLiFi (Hall 7, 7B27): See how we’re pushing the boundaries of fixed wireless access with the Sonim 5G self-install router.
The Road Ahead
We are busy integrating Sonim into the NEXA family, and this week we are giving an exclusive preview of our combined technology roadmap. We are looking forward to leveraging Sonim’s position as the leader in rugged, mission-critical gear, backed by NEXA’s custom Android expertise across our direct and partner ecosystems.
If your organization is still trying to force consumer devices into professional environments, you’re playing a losing game. At NEXA, we Refuse to Settle. We are building the enterprise mobility solutions that make "The IQ Era" actually work for the people on the front lines who are delivering world-class, mission-critical services.
If you’re in Barcelona, come visit us at our main meeting room in Hall 3 (PMR 3A13PEx). Let’s talk about how we can build the exact solution your mission requires.
See you at the show!
